Virginia State Parks offers you overnight accommodation in more than 300 comfortable, climate-controlled cabins of various sizes and styles throughout the state.

These cabins are ideal getaways for families, friends and retreats. They are economical lodging choices in locations from river view to rolling foothills, and from lush meadows to mountains. Many of the cabins are available year round for your special getaway.

If you would like to escape the daily grind of modern-day life, consider renting a Virginia State Park cabin. Pets are allowed in all of these park cabins. A fee is charged per pet per night for cabin stays.

Bel Air Mansion and Guest House - These two upscale, overnight facilities in Belle Isle State Park are perfect for family reunions or picturesque weddings. Furnished with antique reproductions, the mansion comfortably sleeps six, and the simply furnished guest house sleeps eight. Call 800-933-7275 to make a reservation.

Cove Ridge Center with dormitories - Located at Natural Tunnel State Park is available for reunions, conferences or business meetings, the two attached dormitories can accommodate up to 30 each. Overnight guests have free use of adjacent swimming pool during normal operating hours. Reservations are handled by the park at (276) 940-2696.

Poplar Hill Cottage is a quaint, garden-themed cottage - Nearby the Southwest Virginia Museum State Park and is the perfect getaway in the mountains, in Big Stone Gap. Furnished with reproduction furniture, the charming cottage is in the historic Poplar Hill neighborhood, adjacent to other fine homes. The cottage comfortably sleeps six and two full baths. Pets are not allowed. Reservations are handled by the park at (276) 523-1322. 

Potomac River Retreat is a beautiful waterfront house - Sitting elegantly alongside the Potomac River at Westmoreland State Park. It accommodates up to 16 (including children) and is on the main road near the pool picnic area (separated by privacy fence). Enjoy the deck that fronts the Potomac, with patio tables, chaise lounges, and a charcoal grill. A large common area (for use as a conference room or social gathering space) overlooks the water and has French doors that lead onto the deck. AMENITIES

All cabins have kitchens and bathrooms. Furnishings and equipment include simple furniture, microwave, and refrigerator, stove with oven, dishes, cooking utensils, silverware, kitchen towels and glassware. Bath towels and bedroom linens, including mattress covers, pillows, blankets, sheets and pillow cases, also are included.

Carefully read occupancy information. Make sure the cabin you plan to rent has enough beds for your party as rental cots are unavailable.

All cabins except those at Chippokes State Park and Twin Lakes State Park's Hill Lodge and Martin Cottage have fireplaces. Cabins at Smith Mountain Lake have wood stoves. More information here.

This lodge sleeps up to 16 and has ample indoor and outdoor space for group gathering

For larger groups and retreats, there are family lodges are available at Bear Creek Lake, Twin Lakes, Lake Anna, Claytor Lake, Douthat, Fairy Stone, Hungry Mother, James River, Kiptopeke, Natural Tunnel, Occoneechee, Shenandoah River and Westmoreland. The lodges are rented only as single units, and individual rooms are not available.
