Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.
Customer Loyalty Program
Earn, redeem, enjoy. It's that easy to be rewarded for staying at a Virginia State Park campground, bunkhouse, cabin or lodge.
Sign Up
It's easy. Just call 800-933-7275, Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and ask a reservation counselor to sign you up for the Customer Loyalty Program on your existing account. The counselor can also create an account for you. When you create your online customer profile, be sure to check the Loyalty Program option at the very bottom. If you have an existing account, you can check your profile to make sure you are signed up or sign up there. You can track your points and balance on your account.
Earn
Earn 20 points for every dollar you spend on overnight lodging. Points are awarded for all overnight reservations completed once you've enrolled in the program. Points are rewarded 24 hours after the stay is completed. Unused points expire after five years.
Redeem
Redeem your points for a discount applied to an annual pass or overnight stay transaction (one redemption per transaction).

The fine print
Points are not awarded for merchandise, equipment rentals, day-use facilities, reservation fees, taxes, cancellation fees, gift card purchases, refunds or parking passes. Points are also not awarded, and can't be redeemed, for facilities that aren't handled through the system's central reservation system. Those include Poplar Hill Cottage at Southwest Virginia Museum, group cabins at Pocahontas State Park, environmental education facilities at Cove Ridge Center, Natural Tunnel State Park and False Cape State Park, and a few park-reserved group sites. Reservations for Breaks Interstate Park are not included in this program. Unused points expire 60 months after earned date.
For reservations earned points calculation, the dollar amounts for each night will be rounded down to the whole dollar (e.g. $25.01 = 500 points; $25.99 = 500 points).
Loyalty points are awarded to the customer whose account the reservation is booked on. When multiple reservations are made in one transaction, the customer making the reservation will receive points associated with all the reservations. Points will not be awarded to other occupants of the sites.
Only one redemption tier can be selected per reservation.
Points will be awarded twenty-four hours after an overnight stay is completed. "Overnight stay" means from check-in until check-out and not each night. Earning and redemption rates may be adjusted by Virginia State Parks at its discretion. Points show as "pending" until the stay is complete.
Points may not be redeemed in the same transaction in which they are earned and can only be used when making new reservations. Refunds for an existing reservation will not be given in order for points to be substituted as a method of payment for a night. Points may not be applied to reservations that are already paid in full or toward the reservation fee.
If a refund is requested for an overnight stay transaction involving points and another payment method, the refund will be given based on the payment method for the specific night that's refunded. For example, if the refunded night was paid in points then points will be returned, but if the refunded night was paid by credit card, the amount will be refunded back to the credit card used for payment. Points may not be converted directly to cash and may be used only for the rewards offered by Virginia State Parks. Points from multiple accounts may not be combined into one account and may not be assigned to another person or account.
