Michael Salotti, Acting Reservation Center Assistant Manager recommends:
Cabin 14 at James River State Park. The views are gorgeous from many of the cabins there, but he says this one is the best! Learn more about the cabins at James River State Park here, with more park specific cabin photos here.
Nancy Heltman, State Parks Visitor Services Manager has some valuable insight into the following for you:
Cabin 32 is a favorite at Westmoreland State Park (for it's cozy design). Learn more about the cabins at Westmoreland State Park here, with park specific cabin photos here.
At
Staunton River State Park it’s Cabin 1 (kind of on the end away from the other cabins). Learn more about the cabins at Staunton River State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos
here.
I like Cabin 12 at
Claytor Lake State Park for the privacy, but cabins 6 and 7 are on the point with probably the best views. Learn more about the cabins at Claytor Lake State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos
here.
I’d say cottage 4 is my favorite at
Chippokes State Park (extra touches like stenciling and master bedroom). Learn more about the cabins at Chippokes State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos

Cabin 12 at
Bear Creek Lake State Park (best unimpeded lake view). Very woodsy and private in the cabin loop. Learn more about the cabins at Bear Creek Lake State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos
here.
Fairy Stone State Park is cabin 8 (best lake view log cabin). Learn more about the cabins at Fairy Stone State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos
here.
Cabin 4 would be my pick for
Occoneechee State Park (best lake view). Learn more about the cabins at Occoneechee State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos

At
First Landing State Park the CCC frame cabins (1-6) are always the most popular from the guests point of view. Learn more about the cabins at First Landing State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos
here.
Smith Mountain State Park it is cabin 17 (best all-around view of the lake). Learn more about the cabins at Smith Mountain Lake State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos

At
Douthat State Park it’s cabins 22-25, which are known as the creekside cabins. One room efficiencies at Douthat State Park are a special couple's getaway. The bed and fireplace are in the same room, so the atmosphere screams romance! Learn more about the cabins at Douthat State Park

Shellie Leete, PR and Marketing Specialist thinks you will enjoy these cabins:
Natural Tunnel State Park have amazing newer cabins, cabin 1 and 2 are my favorite. Cabin 1 being at the very end of the cabin road and very private, and cabin 2 with the views to die for. Learn more about the cabins at Natural Tunnel State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos
here.
Shenandoah River State Park has a nice cluster of cabins, all of them are terrific, but I would recommend cabin 4 for the privacy and overlook down on the meandering river below (especially in the fall and winter when the leaves drop). Learn more about the cabins at Shenandoah River State Park
here, with park specific cabin photos

The word from the grapevine
...is that
Hungry Mother State Park cabins 2 (log, lakefront) and 7 (amazing stone porch) are the favorite. Cabin 2 is known as the “Honeymoon cabin.” Learn more about the cabins at Hungry Mother State Park
