Impacts of the winter storm on Virginia State Parks and Natural Area Preserves
Due to the expected winter storm, all Virginia State Park overnight facilities will be closed from Friday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 25. This decision is based on the forecast for unsafe conditions and potential power outages.
What you need to know:
- Guests with overnight reservations during this period will have their reservations canceled and will receive a full refund.
- No new reservations will be accepted for these dates.
Day-use areas:
Some parks may remain open for day use until local conditions require closure. Please check individual park websites before visiting.
Some natural area preserves may remain open for day use until local conditions require closure. Please check individual preserve websites before visiting.
