Save Money With Last Minute Weekend Cabin Rentals
Book a cabin Thursday or Friday for the coming weekend and save 25%
Pack up the watercraft for a last minute getaway
In a perfect world (for us), all of our Virginia State Parks cabins would be booked 365 days of the year. We use the revenue we generate from cabin rentals and all our other fees to operate our parks so the more rentals the better. However, it particularly makes us sad when we have cabins all ready for the weekend sit empty. Sometimes the availability is due to a last minute cancelation but other times we just didn't get them all rented.

A couple of years ago we started a "last minute weekend cabin getaway discount"
If you book Thursday or Friday for that weekend, you can save 25% over our normal fees. This discount is only available by calling the reservation center at 800-933-7275 (not available on line). If you follow us on Facebook, we are going to start posting the names of parks with available cabins every Thursday morning!
The discount even applies to our family lodges, like this one at Claytor Lake State Park,
if you are lucky enough to find one available
A two night minimum stay still applies
On a busy weekend or if we have a lot of turnovers, park staff may not clean cabins that aren't reserved so booking the day before your preferred arrival is recommended. If the cabin is clean and we can confirm with the park, we will take a same day reservation but this is not guaranteed for customers.
The one room efficiency cabins are perfect for a romantic getaway
Some of our camping customers may not realize we accept same day reservations through the call center up until 2 p.m. No discount for last minute camping reservations but this is an added convenience for customers who like to wait and see what the weather is like before making a reservation. Of course, last minute camping and cabin availability is never guaranteed.
Our reservation center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is only a phone call away at 800-933-7275.
Not sure which parks have cabins? Check out our amenity search tool.
And now for the fine print:
The discount only applies to NEW RESERVATIONS ONLY.
You can't take a reservation made months ago and ask for the discount or cancel one and rebook to get the discount. The whole point is to give our visitors an incentive to book a cabin that would otherwise sit empty for the weekend.
