This year's Music at the Marina concert series, held at Leesylvania State Park, is kickin' off the 4th of July celebration a bit early. Don't miss out on some special surprises, June 29, 2013 at 7 pm.

Fireworks will take place once it's dark, after the concert

Leesylvania State Park hosts a series of summer concerts each month, beginning in June and ending in August. Why drive in the congested DC traffic, battle crowds and walk tirelessly for just for a good view of those darn fireworks? Well, some of us do it for our kids, others do it for the tradition, and some for the festivities that surround it. I’m here to tell you, we’re doing it better than DC.

Listen up, Leesylvania State Park is located outside the busy DC Metro area. We’re on the Potomac River, we’ve got the monster fireworks, live music, food, activities for kids; we've got the night planned. Throw down a picnic on the lawn, bring your dog, kids, friends- whoever! You could even win an iPod (courtesy of our sponsors Steve’s Auto Repair, in Woodbridge), a family canoe tour for four, a Leesylvania State Park pass, or a grand prize cabin stay at one of our Virginia State Parks!

Bring your kids, friends and family for a fun outdoor celebration this 4th of July!

This opening concert is kickin’ off the summer season with entertainment featuring the United State Navy Band, Country Current . The band will setup on the deck by the Breakwater park store, with a backdrop of the Potomac River. The park will have large tents for shade or throw down your own blankets or chairs and watch as the sun sets over the water. We will have activities for children, face painting and giving away some other little goodies (like cliff bars, bug bands, coloring books...and other stuff).

Concert schedule for the Summer of 2013:

June 29 US Navy Band, Country Current (Country)
July 27 Los Triunfadores del 4 (Latin)
Aug 24 No Charge (Rock, Country, Americana)

*Each concert is themed with different genres to suit different tastes.

Facepainting and other activities are planned for the little ones

Don’t forget, each concerts start at 7 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks to follow on June 29th only. A $5 parking fee applies to each vehicle entering the park, although the event is free.
