Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Free parking
Make any purchase from REI and use the bottom of your receipt for free parking in any Virginia State Park. Provide your receipt to the contact station ranger or insert it in a self-pay envelope.
Free night of camping
Call 800-933-7275 to register. A Virginia State Parks Customer Service representative will create your account in the reservation system and the Customer Loyalty Program. Provide your REI member number to the representative. If you have a Virginia State Parks account already, just provide your REI member number. We’ll enroll you in the Customer Loyalty Program and add 10,000 bonus points. The bonus points are good for at least one free night of camping. Find out more about the program here.
10% off future camping stays
REI members also receive 10 percent off all camping stays at Virginia State Parks. Make your reservations on the phone or online. Call us to verify your membership and get the promo code. The promo code must be used when the reservation is made and cannot be applied to existing reservations.
