Video Featuring Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Makes the List of Nominees

This past May the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced nominations for their 56th Emmy Awards. It just happens that one of the Emmy nominations is a promotional video produced by NBC WSLS Channel 10 featuring Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park. The promotional video was produced in 2013 and aired on the WSLS Daytime Blue Ridge television show.

The 56th Emmy Awards honor excellence in television programming and are presented to various categories of the television industry. WSLS nominees for their work on the video are Natalie Faunce, Writer, Host and Co-producer of Daytime Blue Ridge and Ryan Anderson, Videographer and Editor of Daytime Blue Ridge. The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter's 56th Emmy Awards Gala will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Maryland. We wish Ryan and Natalie success with the nomination and realize it’s an honor to be nominated.

The nominated video was made possible by a partnership between the counties of Prince Edward, Amelia, the Town of Appomattox, the Museum of Confederacy- Appomattox and state parks in the Central Virginia Region. These partners form the marketing group The Best Part of the Civil War…The End. The group has received several grant awards from Virginia Tourism Corporation Marketing grants. Funding from these grants assist marketing efforts that highlight tourism destinations found in these communities of Central Virginia.
