Visitors to this 496-acre park are greeted by lush forests, rolling hills, and the shimmering surfaces of Goodwin Lake and Prince Edward Lake, which give Twin Lakes State Park its name. From casting a line or paddling to hiking or simply basking in the tranquility of the waterfront, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the pristine natural beauty here. Located just an hour's drive from Richmond, Twin Lakes is a wonderful location for weddings. It features the waterfront Cedar Crest Center and a lakeside gazebo for indoor-outdoor combination weddings.

1. Do you have a venue for ceremonies, receptions or rehearsal dinners?
- Yes, the park offers the Cedar Crest Center for ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners.
2. How many guests can these locations accommodate?
- Cedar Crest Center can accommodate 135 guests.
3. Is the Cedar Crest Center available for rent for the full day?
- Yes, the center can be rented from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekends (including Friday) and 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekdays.
4. Is internet access available?
- Yes, there is Wi-Fi available, although it is limited in capacity. Additional internet options are recommended for internet-intensive gatherings.
5. Are tables and chairs available?
- Yes, 6-foot rectangular and 6-foot round tables as well as chairs are available for use. Linens are not provided.
6. What color are the tables and chairs?
- Some of the tables have a woodgrain top while others have a textured gray top. The chairs are black with blue cushions. The deck furniture is white.
7. Who is responsible for setting up the tables and chairs?
- The tables and chairs will be provided to you, but the wedding party is responsible for setting them up and breaking them down.
8. Is there handicapped parking at Cedar Crest Center?
- Yes, there are two handicapped parking spaces.
9. Are restrooms available in the Cedar Crest Center?
- Yes, there are indoor and outdoor restrooms.
10. Are caterers allowed?
- Yes, caterers area allowed.
11. Are DJs allowed?
- Yes, DJs are allowed. They must set up inside the hall. Park staff will discuss appropriate sound levels before the start of your event.
12. Can I serve alcoholic beverages at my event?
- Yes, we require an Alcoholic Beverage Control banquet license. Please provide a copy of the license to park staff before the start of your event. The license should be posted at all times while the event is being held. Alcohol may not be taken outside of the center or off the patio.
13. Are decorations permitted?
- Yes, decorations are permitted but may not be attached to painted surfaces and may not damage the hall in any way. Paint, glue, glitter or confetti are not allowed. No candles or open flames are allowed. Renters are responsible for damages or any excess cleaning required after the event.
14. Is ice available?
- Yes, there is an ice machine at the center.
15. Is there a fireplace?
- No, there is not a fireplace available.
16. Do I need to complete any additional paperwork through the park office?
- Yes, a Rental Terms of Agreement Form will be sent to you for review and signature. Please return the signed copy to the park office. In some cases, a Special Use Permit Application may be required. Park staff will send you an application if one is required.
17. What if I need assistance after the office closes?
- You can contact the on-call ranger at 434-253-0354.
18. I would like to tour the hall before making a reservation. Is this possible?
- Yes, please contact the park office at 434-392-3435 to schedule an appointment.
19. Do you have overnight facilities for our wedding guests?
- Yes, the park offers nine cabins, a family lodge and 32 campsites. Guests can make reservations 11 months in advance through the Virginia State Parks Customer Service Center at 1-800-933-7275 and select option 5.
