HENRY COUNTY, Va. — DCR, Virginia State Parks and Kimley-Horn: Engineering Planning and Design Consultants are hosting a public information meeting to discuss the future Mayo River State Park master plan. The meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, from 6-8 p.m., at Spencer-Penn Center’s Lester Banquet Hall located at 475 Spencer Penn Rd, Spencer, Virginia 24165.

This 10-year plan will help guide the park’s management and development and identify its natural, cultural and physical resources. During the meeting, attendees will learn more about the master plan process and have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

Virginia’s future Mayo River State Park is located in southwestern Henry County near the Virginia-North Carolina border. The 637-acre property is intended to complement the park built around the Mayo River in North Carolina, also called Mayo River State Park.
