April 11, 2026. 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Meet a ranger for a leisurely paced afternoon walk in Galax. We will begin at 2 p.m. and meet at the New River Trail Galax access parking lot. Participants will have the opportunity to identify unique flora and fauna as well as learn about our unique park history. The hike will last approximately one hour and cover 1-2 miles. Be sure to wear closed toed shoes and bring water to drink. Leashed pets are welcome. The trail surface is crushed stone and a gentle grade.
