Join astronomers from the Richmond Astronomical Society for a night of awe and wonder. View the moon, Jupiter, the Great Nebula in Orion and other celestial bodies. Roam around to take a look through their many kinds of telescopes and chat with the astronomers about the stars, constellations, and planets visible in the night sky.
You may also bring your own telescope or binoculars to get assistance from experienced astronomers. Feel free to bring comfortable chairs or blankets to lean back and enjoy an expansive view of the sky. To preserve the night vision of our visitors and wildlife, please use minimal lighting when entering and leaving the parking lot, and only use flashlights with red-colored light in order.
Reservations are not required, but call 804-796-4472 or email Rebecca.Whalen@dcr.virginia.gov for more information and updates about cancellations due to weather.
