True Art Showcase is named in the honor of the Museum’s first curator James True the Museum's first curator. Celebrate the creativity of our community at this year’s True Art Showcase, featuring the talents of local artists and students. The 2026 theme is “Wildlife of the Appalachians.”
Adults may submit up to four pieces of artwork no larger than 20 x 16. Adults may enter a variety of mediums, such as drawings, photos, paintings, cross stitch, and sculptures are welcome, provided they fit the size requirements.
The showcase also features a children's art competition and is open to students K-12 and should portray some aspect of “Wildlife of the Appalachians.” Drawings, photos, and paintings are welcome. The park requests a maximum size of 8.5”x 11” and welcome smaller submissions. Winners in each children’s group will receive certificates held at a reception at the museum on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. in the museum’s Victorian Parlor

All artworks must be submitted by Friday, February 20 by 4 p.m. The park is closed during the months of January and February. For more information or to make arrangements to drop off art please call the park at 276-523-1322.
