Lake Loop Trail

Take a chance, step outside and discover your local "flew" crew. Get ready for a walk full of feathered friends, beautiful birdsong, and maybe even a peek at a nest or two. It's a wonderful way to connect with nature, one wing-flutter at a time. This hike will be no longer than 3 miles on the gentle part of the Lake Trail. Bring binoculars (we will have a few pairs to share), sturdy hiking shoes, and water.

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Virginia State Parks offers a range of special events and activities highlighting the importance of conservation and sustainability. Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, tree plantings and service projects to help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the state’s 44 parks.
