Are you ready to become a ranger? A Junior Ranger that is. Our park rangers will guide any children ages 12 and younger on an educational course through the park to help earn their Junior Ranger Badge. This mini-course will include a portion of the Junior Ranger booklet requirements, which include sightseeing, animal identification, habitat observation, and a fantastic day of exploration!
About National Kids to Parks Day
Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
