Join us for an exciting Ranger-led winter birding hike at Occoneechee State Park, where we will explore the various bird species that make the Southern Piedmont Region of Virginia their home during the winter months. The hike will take place on a loop of the Panhandle Multi-Use Trail near the Equestrian Day Use Parking Area in close proximity to Buggs Island Lake, offering the opportunity to discover both woodland and aquatic bird species. The terrain is moderate with slight hills, covering a distance of 2.3 miles, and the hike will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Please remember to wear warm clothing, closed-toed shoes, and bring drinking water. We look forward to seeing you there!
