Join a ranger for a guided hike down the Edgewood Trail here at Staunton River Battlefield State Park! To celebrate America's 250th Anniversary, during this hike we will discuss and focus on events that led up to the Revolution and some of the notable figures that played an important role in America gaining its independence.
Visitors are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear appropriate footwear. This walk will be about half a mile in total and have multiple moderate hills and inclines along the trail. Please call the Clover Center at (434) 454-4312 for questions and more information.
About First Day Hikes
Every year on Jan. 1, Virginia State Parks celebrates First Day Hikes. This nationwide initiative invites people to ring in the new year by connecting with nature and making lasting memories at a state park. Ranger-led and self-guided First Day Hikes are offered across the state, giving visitors of all ages and skill levels the chance to explore outdoors. January 1 is a Free Parking Day at all Virginia State Parks. (The admission fee at Natural Bridge still applies).
