New Years Clyburn Ridge Hike

Wash off 2025 and begin taking in 2026 on this guided hike along Clyburn Ridge Trail on the first day of the year! This hike will provide you with a moderate 1 mile climb to a stunning lake view and end with a 1.5 mile trek through a vast hollow where you will be surrounded by the mountains towering above you. Use this opportunity to experience one of our park's trails with two rangers to show you the way and provide you with information about the area and it's natural resources. Let this astounding hike set the precedence for your new year!
About First Day Hikes
Every year on Jan. 1, Virginia State Parks celebrates First Day Hikes. This nationwide initiative invites people to ring in the new year by connecting with nature and making lasting memories at a state park. Ranger-led and self-guided First Day Hikes are offered across the state, giving visitors of all ages and skill levels the chance to explore outdoors. January 1 is a Free Parking Day at all Virginia State Parks. (The admission fee at Natural Bridge still applies).
