Take a walk among the forest's still and silent giants: trees! At this time of year, many trees that have dropped their leaves can be identified by looking closely at their variations of bark textures and growth patterns. Other trees and plants have evolved to keep their leaves, while some may even provide wildlife with cold-season fruit. The more you look, the more you'll find that the forest is full of life even when it may appear empty and dormant.
