Calling all Girl Scouts! Join us for a day of fun activities and badge earning opportunities at Lake Anna State Park! See the attached PDF for more information:
11am-12:30pm: Walk with a Ranger - Join us for a guided hike of Railroad Ford Trail! Learn how to stay safe and Leave No Trace in the great outdoors. Open to all ages and experience levels. Hike is 1.4 miles over uneven terrain, ranked Easy by Virginia State Park guidelines. Meet outside the Visitor Center at 10:50am. FREE
1pm-2pm: Nature Arts & Crafts - Get your craft on at the Visitor Center! Learn how to make eco-friendly confetti and create your own Animal Track Identification guide. FREE
2pm-3pm: Snakes Alive! - Slither over to the Visitor Center to meet our animal ambassadors, Julia and Flick! Learn fact from fiction as we discuss snake safety. Pet a live snake and stay for an optional feeding. FREE
3:30pm-4:30pm: Junior Lifeguard - Head to the public beach for a crash course in water safety and lake hazards. Practice some lifeguard skills and learn how you can be a helpful bystander in a water emergency. (NOT a certified lifeguard training program) FREE
Self-Guided: Scavenger Hunts and information on Geocaching are available in the Visitor Center all day.

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
