Get ready for a reel good time. Whether you’re brand new to fishing or just need a refresher, this hands-on program will have you hooked in no time. We’ll start on land by getting familiar with rods, reels, and their 'fin-tastic' parts, then play a fun casting game to test your aim. You’ll also learn two essential fishing knots and how to rig your line like a pro. After that, we’ll head to the creek or lake to try and catch the big one, or at least something with fins.

All equipment is provided. Participants ages 16 and up must have a valid Virginia freshwater fishing license, which can be purchased at the park office, camp store, or online HERE. Park guests with no license are welcome to attend but will not be able to fish.

Cost is $3 per person. Space and equipment is limited, so sign up at the main office to secure your spot. This program is shore to be a great catch for all ages.
