Celebrate National Public Lands Day with adventure, exploration, and a little help for the planet!
Join us for "Passport to a Cleaner Park", a self-guided stamp-collecting challenge designed to get you moving and giving back. At the start of your journey, you’ll pick up your official stamp sheet and a trash bag, because every step you take is also a step toward a cleaner park.
As you explore trails, scenic spots, and popular areas of the park, collect stamps at designated stations while also helping us keep the land beautiful by picking up litter along the way. Once your stamp sheet is complete, return it (along with your filled trash bag) for a sticker!
Park entry is free all day, making National Public Lands Day the perfect time to give back to the nature which gives us so much. Whether you’re here for the hike, the hunt, or to lend a hand, this is your chance to explore, discover, and leave the park better than you found it.
Register here to let us know you're coming. We will contact you if the program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

About National Public Lands Day
Virginia State Parks celebrates National Public Lands Day each September by inviting volunteers and visitors to take part in the largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands in the country. Join in preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the state’s public lands through a variety of hands-on activities, including trail maintenance, tree plantings, invasive species removal, litter clean-ups and educational programs on the importance of conservation. Parking fees are waived at most Virginia State Parks for National Public Lands Day (excludes Grayson Highlands and the admission fee at Natural Bridge and Southwest Virginia Museum).
