Girl Scouts Love State Parks Day

Sept. 13, 2025. 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Celebrate adventure, friendship, and the great outdoors during Girl Scouts Love State Parks Day. From 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. we will offer a program on how to make a nature journal, followed by a guided hike on Farmstead Loop and Mountain View Trail from 11 a.m. to noon. From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. scouts can engage in hands-on activities at the Interpretive Center, connecting with rangers and learning how to protect and enjoy state parks for generations to come.

Please join us for any or all of these activities and be sure to check your Girl Scout Council’s website for more information. You do not need to be a Girl Scout to participate in any of these events. All programs are open to the public.

About Girl Scouts Love State Parks

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
