The warm days may be coming to a close, but the time to volunteer will always be here!
This National Public Lands Day, help our staff cleanup Widewater State Park by picking up trash and tending the trails. Come in to the visitor center to check-in and receive any necessary supplies. We can provide (adult) gloves and trash pickers, though they are in limited quantity, so please bring your own if you have them. Trash pickers are to be returned to the Visitor Center at the end of use. Participants will be given a trash bag, though we encourage volunteers to work in groups to reduce the amount of plastic waste.
If you are walking the trails, you are encouraged to move aside branches and dislodged rocks from the trail to help maintain a safe walking experience for all users.
Children and dogs on a leash are welcome to participate as not only will y'all be helping to clean up the park, but will also be able to enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather!
If you have any questions, you can call the Widewater Visitor Center at (540)288-1400.
