August Volunteer Workday: Revamp & Replant

Location of Claytor Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Claytor Lake State Park, 6620 Ben H. Bolen Dr., Dublin, VA 24084.
Howe House

When

Aug. 9, 2025. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Help us refresh the Howe House's landscaping! We're saying goodbye to the old front garden beds and giving our native plants a second chance to thrive elsewhere in the park. Volunteers will assist with removing existing garden beds and relocating our native plants to a new garden bed. No experience is needed, and all supplies will be provided.

Each month, volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to work together on a project that helps improve and maintain our beautiful park. Projects vary each month and may include tasks like trail maintenance, park beautification, litter cleanup, or special volunteer projects. This is a great opportunity to get outside, meet new people, and give back to the park you love.

Please bring sunscreen, wear closed-toe shoes, and don't forget some water. Together we can make a real difference at Claytor Lake State Park. Please email Hannah.Wetzel@dcr.virginia.gov if you have any questions. The parking fee is waived for all volunteers.
