Spillway
When
Sept. 27, 2025. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Come check out our "Trailgate" which is like a tailgate for a football game, but this one's more nature-centric. We will be offering various stations on nature with a variety of hands on activities for all ages to discover nature in fun and exciting ways. You never know what just may be seen at the Hungry Mother Trailgate!
Three hikes will be offered that day also. They are as follows:
10 a.m. Forest Therapy Practice- Join Volunteer Tina Hayes and discover how to become more aware of your surroundings and how to immerse yourself into nature. Using all of your senses, relax and enjoy nature just a little bit more.
11 a.m. Birds on the Wing- Join Naturalist Ashlea Stone and learn about the birds we have at the park right now. Hopefully, we will find a flock or two of mixed warblers and other song birds as they begin to migrate out of our area.
1 p.m. Plant Hike- Hike with weed lady, Carrie Sparks as she takes you on a short hike on the Lake Trail and points out various plants that have been historically used for herbal remedies and medicinal values or just interesting recipes.
