Join a Ranger for a weekend of activities to check off 8 of the 25 needed activities for a badge in the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge 2025. When you attend the park on Friday you can learn the principles of Leave No Trace, be able to interview a park ranger and make s'mores at a campfire. Saturday's line-up includes learning about birds and bugs, learning 2 knots (Survival Bracelets, $5) and leaf rubbing.

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
