Night programs in a day-use park are a special treat, especially in the heat of summer! Join us for this unique evening event in partnership with the Central Piedmont Virginia Master Naturalists (CPVMN) as we celebrate Moth Week, a global initiative that invites people to document and appreciate local moth species.

If you’ve ever been captivated by moths fluttering around a porch light, you might find Moth Week even more thrilling than Shark Week! We’ll set up a light station near High Bridge, where CPVMN members will photograph and identify visiting moths. Guests are invited to observe, ask questions, and even try their hand at spotting different species.

This is a fantastic chance to witness citizen science in action and learn about the beauty and diversity of these often-overlooked night time pollinators. Whether you’re a budding naturalist or just curious about what shows up after dark, this event promises something for everyone.
