Have you ever seen a tree grow out of a rock? That's what it looks like anyway. Join a ranger on a moderate hike to see the Magic Tree and learn about what the land used to be, and how the tree came to be sitting on top of a rock. Continue to Little Pinnacle and Big Pinnacle, the highest point in the park, and enjoy the long-range views and learn more about the ecology and history of Grayson Highlands. This hike will include the two best views in Virginia.
Be prepared by bringing some water and wearing closed-toe shoes.

About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
