Celebrate National Trails Day with Master Naturalist Kim Manion on a short, informative walk to explore the basics of tree identification. Kim will share her expert tips and tricks for recognizing Virginia’s diverse tree species, and you may even learn a few surprising insights along the way. This easy, less-than-half-a-mile trail is perfect for beginners. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and wear closed-toe shoes for comfort. Come out and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while honing your tree identification skills.

About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 43 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
