There’s nothing quite like enjoying the great outdoors with a roaring fire, gooey s’mores, and a night sky full of stars, but that wonderful campfire is also a big responsibility. Come meet local volunteer fire fighters and have all of your burning questions about wildfires answered. Learn about the destruction uncontrolled fires cause and how you can prevent it.
About Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Virginia State Parks offers a range of special events and activities highlighting the importance of conservation and sustainability. Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, tree plantings and service projects to help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the state’s 44 parks.
