Visit Wilderness Road State Park on National Trails Day to create and customize your own hiking stick. We provide the sticks. You provide the creativity. Afterwards join our rangers as they lead you on a mile long hike along the Pioneer Trail where you will search for Virginia’s unique natural and cultural history.
Program at 1 p.m.
Hike at 2 p.m.
Track chair is available for those who wish to participate but have accessibility needs. Registration in advance is recommended.
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 43 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
