"And for Winter, fly-fishing is as useful as an almanac out of date." - Izaak Walton

Join our rangers on the last topic of our Animal Winter Adaptations series: fish! There are many ways which fish have adapted to survive the Winter months; often, they migrate and dive into deeper waters. Others burrow under the mud while some exude "antifreeze" into their bodies to keep them from becoming fishicles. Previously, some folks believed that in the colder months fish grew fur and lived on land to keep warm until Spring!

Please dress for the weather! Hats, gloves, and scarves are highly encouraged as we will take a short walk down to Long Pond or Aquia Creek, weather permitting.
