Connect artistically to the world around you. Each week we will focus on a different medium and all the ways nature has been expressed in that style.
7/20 - Painting: Nature has been explored through art since the beginning of time. Come learn about some of the most prolific nature painters, and use the backdrop of the park to make your own masterpiece. Feel free to bring your own sketchbook and paints, but all materials will be provided.
7/27 - Writing: The natural world is the backdrop of great literary pieces at every reading level. Join us in going over some of our favorite works about nature, and after we will try to write some of our own. Feel free to bring your own notebook, but all materials will be provided.
8/3 - Music: Let the songs of the forest inspire your next sheet of music. We will have a few extra instruments for participants to use, but we highly encourage you to bring your own instrument. Due to this, we recommend this program for ages 12 and up.
Materials are limited, so reservations are recommended. Please call (804) 796-4472 or email Rebecca.Whalen@dcr.virginia.gov for reservations or more information.
