Paddle the lower Potomac River on a fossil finding adventure! Millions of years ago, Virginia was covered in a shallow sea that was teeming with life, leaving behind prolific fossil beds. We'll ride down to the beach and then kayak upriver in search of these clues to the past. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get wet. Must be age 16+ for solo kayak and age 8+ (with an adult) for tandem kayak.
Paid reservations are required as space is limited. Call 540-663-3861 or stop by the Visitor Center to reserve your kayak. Parking fee is $5.
