Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Moonlight Bike Tour

Join us for a sunset/moonlight bike ride on High Bridge Trail. This ranger and volunteer-guided bike ride to High Bridge will begin at Main Street across from the Downtown Plaza and caboose, next to The Outdoor Adventure Store. Total distance out and back for the sunset ride is approximately 10 miles. When we return to Main Street after sunset, if anyone wishes to continue the ride on the moonlit trail, we will continue westward from town. A handlebar and/or helmet light is required as the return trip will be dark. Please dress accordingly for the weather. This will be a relaxed-pace ride, so cyclists of all abilities are welcome to participate.

If you want to join but don't have a bicycle, rentals will be available by advance reservation only through The Outdoor Adventure Store in Farmville (434-315-5736). Reservations for bike rentals must be made no later than close of business on May 8th,2024. For more information, contact High Bridge Trail State Park at 434-315-0457 or highbridgetrail@dcr.virginia.gov.
