River Kayak Tour

June 1, 2024. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Come experience the beautiful James River on this guided kayak tour. The trip includes a brief overview of paddling safety and techniques, as well as on-the-water interpretations of natural and cultural features. Conditions permitting, the tour will start at Launch A and end at Maidens Landing.

It can be physically challenging to get in and out of the boats, especially for those with balance issues. Contact us at powhatan@dcr.virginia.gov if you have concerns, and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Participant Expectations:
- Bring plenty of water, sun protection, and snacks.
- Plan to get wet. Bring a change of clothes and towel.
- Wear closed-toe shoes that may get wet.
- Children must be at least 10 years old.

Registration Required
- Visit or call the park office at (804) 598-7148 to sign up. 
- The cost is $20 per participant.

Event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
