Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Would you like to explore our trails and meet new people? If so, you may enjoy our hiking series. Each month we will hike a different trail in the park.

During our ranger-led hikes, you can expect to find (and learn about) all sorts of amazing things in the natural world that surrounds you – even if you've hiked a route many times before! Each day brings something new, and each moment we have the opportunity to focus our attention on something unexpected. Who knows what you'll discover? It may be a mysterious animal track, a mesmerizing little flower you have previously overlooked, or perhaps the song of a bird that sounds vaguely familiar.

Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring plenty of water. Children are welcome, but please be aware that are typically 2-4 miles and require navigating uneven terrain in all weather conditions.

Ranger Led Hikes are scheduled on the last Saturday of each month:

1/27: Coyote Run Trail - Meet at the Trailhead/Equestrian parking lot.
2/24: River, Gold Dust, Turkey Trails - Meet at the Trailhead/Equestrian parking lot.
3/30: Cabin Trail, Big Woods Trail - Meet at the playground area.
4/27: Pine Trail - Meet at the Yates parking lot.
5/25: Coyote Run Trail - Meet at the Trailhead/Equestrian parking lot.
6/29: River, Gold Dust, Turkey Trails - Meet at the Trailhead/Equestrian parking lot.
7/27: Cabin Trail, Big Woods Trail - Meet at the playground area.
8/31: Pine Trail - Meet at the Yates parking lot.
9/28: Coyote Run Trail - Meet at the Trailhead/Equestrian parking lot.
