Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

First Day Hikes: Birding Bonanza

First Day Hikes are all about new beginnings and soaring over any obstacles that getting in the way of your goals. In that spirit, join the Rangers for a guided bird watching experience! On this hike, you will head down the Bald Cypress, Long Creek, and Fox Run trails to observe winters most popular birds at First Landing State Park. This experience will last approximately 1 hour and include fairly easy walking conditions. It is recommended you bring your own binoculars for this hike, and dress for the weather. Please note that safety and effectiveness of this hike are of the Rangers top priority. If attendance for this hike exceeds a limit that would interfere with these objectives than attendance may be capped.
