Bring in 2024 the right way by burning some of those holiday season calories during a First Day Hike in the high country. Meet the park ranger at Massie Gap field for a 2.5-mile round trip hike to explore Grayson Highlands State Park in winter. Experience the wild weather, rugged geology, and mountain ponies of the highest state park in Virginia. Please wear good hiking boots, dress warmly, and be sure to bring a snack and some water.

This is a FREE parking day for all Virginia State Parks.
