Discover the beauty and diverse ecosystems of Sky Meadows State Park as you become an Eco-Learner! Join Girl Scouts from across the state in this national event to show your love for Virginia State Parks. Participants will kick off this weekend of discovery and advocacy with self-guided activities geared toward Daisy, Brownie, and Junior scouts. Receive a special Virginia State Parks patch after successfully completing the activities. Activity booklets and free parking passes will be distributed by official Girl Scout Councils. A limited number of booklets will be available for pick up in the Visitor Center between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

On Saturday, September 9th get your hands dirty with a service project helping with trail maintenance on the Shearman's Mill Trail. This trail is an easy 1.05-mile trail located on the Lost Mountain side of the park. Meet at the Horse Barn at Lost Mountain at 10 a.m. No experience is required and tools provided. Please dress for the weather, be sure to wear sturdy hiking boots and tall socks. Bring water, lunch, bug spray, and sunscreen. No open-toed sandals or flip-flops.
