Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Splash a hand line in the water and see if you pull up a jimmy or a sook. Not sure what all that means? Then this is the program for you. This is a great intro to crabbing but be careful - these crustaceans can pinch.
At the end of the program, you'll walk away with the skills you need to hand line crabs on your own, plus a discount coupon to help you stock up on supplies. $2 per participant. Meet at the Car Top Launch parking lot. Space is limited, pre-registration recommended. Call 804-462-5030 or stop by the Camp Store.
