Summer is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about your child’s summer plans! The Children's Summer Music Camp at the Southwest Virginia Museum is open for children aged 7 to 12. The camp will conclude with a graduation ceremony, which will be held on Friday, June 16.

The camp will seek to preserve our important Appalachian mountain music heritage by offering classes in banjo, fiddle and guitar.

Youth who participate in this camp not only will be offered classes in musical instruments, but will play musical games, learn musical trivia and have a fun-filled week of music fun. Each child will receive a t-shirt and certificate.

A snack will be provided each day. The park will provide the instruments. Seating is limited, so be sure to register early. Registration and payment are due by Friday, June 9.
