June 10, 2023. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Come experience a beautiful morning paddle on the James River with a ranger-guided float. We will travel downstream from Canoe Launch A to Launch C and be on the lookout for water-loving creatures. Participants will be shuttled back to the parking lot at the end of our journey. The trip includes a brief overview of paddling safety and techniques, as well as on-the-water interpretations of natural and cultural features. All boating equipment and personal flotation devices will be provided.

Participant Expectations
- Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a snack.
- Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting wet or muddy.
- Close-toed shoes are required at all times; sandals or flip-flops are not allowed.
- Flotation Vests must be worn and properly fastened at all times within 15 feet of the river.
- Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult in their canoe.
- No more than two adults permitted per canoe.
