Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge Parking Lot

Join us for a special night hike through False Cape State Park. This program includes an open-air tram ride from Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge to the state park where we will walk through pristine maritime forest to the seashore, searching for owls along the way. Expect to walk 2 miles round trip, partly over soft sand. Dress for the weather and don't forget a flashlight! Cost: $10 per person. Reservations are required.
