Every pastime is better with a friend, especially fishing. We are excited to be partnering with our friends at the Farmville Parks & Recreation Department to hold "Fishing with Friends". Kids ages 7-13 will discover the basics of fishing, fish anatomy, and fish species that can be found in Prince Edward County. After a brief educational presentation, it will be time to fish. Whichever participant catches the largest fish will win a prize. Parents, don't worry, you're welcome to join in on the fun too. Accompanying youth and adults ages 16 and older are required to have a valid fishing license. Information about purchasing a license can be found here.

"Fishing with Friends" is completely free of charge! Pre-registration is required as we have a limited amount of equipment. You can register for the event here. If you are having trouble signing up, please contact the Farmville Parks & Recreation Department office at (434) 391-1125.

If you would like to bring your own equipment or bait, please do. We just ask that all equipment and bait are in accordance with Department of Wildlife Resources regulations. Come on out for a reel good time!
