The Pollution Solution
Join more than 6,000 volunteers statewide and make a significant impact on the health of the Chesapeake Bay. Think what happens in your backyard doesn't affect the Bay? Think again. You'd be surprised at the amount of point and nonpoint source pollution that harms the Bay each year.
Discover how pollution enters our Virginia waterways and what you can do to be part of the solution. We’ll kick things off with fun games and experiments for children (and adults) of all ages as we learn about the impact of point and nonpoint source pollution within the Chesapeake Bay.
Then join us for a shoreline clean-up to take action. Trash bags provided. Bring your own gloves and wear close-toed shoes.
This three-hour event is also a great opportunity for scouts who are working on completing their Soil and Water Conservation merit badge.
Pre-registration required. FREE. Please leave a message on the Visitor Center answering machine (540) 288-1400 with your name, number in group, name, date and time of program and your contact information.
