Clean the Bay Day

Bear Creek Lake State Park will observe Clean the Bay Day by raising awareness of our effects on the Chesapeake Bay watershed. 

10 a.m. Bobber Bobbing Contest: Fishing bobbers are just one kind of litter we find in the lake that can end up in the Chesapeake Bay. In a controlled environment, bobbers will be released in the swimming area where everyone is invited face the challenge of collecting all of the bobbers before they escape into the downstream watershed. Got to get them all, because two of them will be worth a free ice cream from the Lakeside Snack Bar.

12 p.m. Touch Table: Stop at the Ranger Table at the Lakeside Snack Bar for an interactive watershed simulation using our Enviroscape, and to talk about ways we can keep our waterways clean.
