Here in Virginia, and around the world, rivers are a source of life for humankind and wildlife alike. Join a park ranger and Master Naturalist for a guided canoe tour on Earth Day to celebrate the positive impact we can make on our waterways and the animals that depend on it. As we paddle along, we’ll witness the beauty of the James River and discover the amazing recovery story of one of our nation’s most iconic birds and long-time resident of Virginia – the bald eagle! All skill levels are welcome.

Participant Expectations:
  - Bring plenty of water and sun protection.
  - Wear comfortable clothes that can get wet or muddy.
  - Close-toed shoes are required.
  - Floatation devices must be worn at all times within 15 feet of the river.
  - Children under 6 years are not permitted.
  - Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult.
