When
June 3, 2023. 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Prior to Yorktown in 1781, the events that would dictate the movement of the armies are often overshadowed. Chippokes State Park will offer a glimpse into the battles, actions, and camp life of both the British and American Armies as they progress on the road to Yorktown in the third annual Prelude to Yorktown Reenactment.
There will be three battle reeactments throughout the length of this special event. There will also be demonstrations for the cavalry, as well as the artillery. There will be live encampments and reenactors will demonstrate the camp life experienced by many a man who fought as a soldier during this time in history.
There will be scheduled tours of the 1854 Jones-Stewart Mansion, Farm & Forestry Museum, and the River House. We hope to see you there!
